Homes generally sell fairly quickly but the ultra luxury market of oceanfront homes, known in Manhattan Beach as the Strand is a vastly different situation. Currently there are 7 oceanfront homes or properties for sale on the Manhattan Beach Strand. As of 9/29/18 there are 7 homes for sale on the beach which is pretty incredible given the limited number of homes in general. The median days on market for these homes is 79 with the average days on market a whopping 241.

Manhattan Beach Housing Inventory is Finally on the Rise
It’s been a while since we’ve seen multiple months of rising home inventory in Manhattan Beach but it seems to be heading in the right direction. Near all time lows in December, the number of new listings cotinues to slowly increase. The Manhattan Beach sand section saw the biggest jump in new listings. As of 3/23/18 there are 49 active homes for sale in the sand section, up from 27 in December, 20 active listings in the tree section up from 16 in December and 12 homes for sale in East Manhattan Beach up from 8 in December. This level of inventory is still well below the norm, but is trending in the right direction.

The home is really being sold for land value and has now officially surpassed the one year mark that it’s been for sale.
