Although the recent relisting of The Strand at $26,000,000 is the most expensive property currently for sale, the home at 1901 Manhattan Ave in Hermosa certainly takes the prize for the most expensive single family home.  Although we don’t believe it will sell for anywhere near the current list price of 22,000,000….if it does it would be the second highest residential sale ever in the South Bay.

The home that had been there sold back in 2013 for $4,200,000.  It’s a tremendous lot and the steep incline of the hill meant guaranteed ocean views.  The home that was built, and now for sale at 1901 Manhattan Ave most definitely took advantage of those views…..from just about every room.  Even the lowest level which feels a bit like a luxurious basement, has ocean views out of the corner window.

It’s surprising to see that 1032 6th Street in Hermosa Beach is still on the market as we liked it when it first hit the market and still think it’s a great property.  Part of the challenge for this home is that it’s competing with new construction townhomes built by Lazaar Design+Build just a block away at 1072 & 1074 7th Street and 2 homes on Pine, but given the great views and beautiful details it’s still surprising that it remains for sale.  The home has a great open feel and floorplan, beautiful ocean views and unlike most townhomes, it has a small yard area.  This fully detached townhome looks and feels like a single family home and is definitely worth a look.
